History of Nanchang:

According to historians, Nanchang was ruled by the Han dynasty in 201 B.C. it was the headquarters of one of the generals of Emperor Gaozu of Han dynasty. In 959, Nanchang was ruled by the Southern Tang regime and it formed their center of administration.

During the year 1927, the communist party created a series of riots in the region of Nanchang. It formed the base for the communist army who were aided by the Russian communist army officer. The place again bared witness to the war fought against the Japanese invasion. Several railway lines were created after the year 1915 in Nanchang. History of Macau:

The year 1550 saw the entry of Portugal traders on the shores of Macau. The then Chinese Empire rented Macau to the Portuguese who made it their trading centre with a port established on the shores and prevailed till the year 1999. The first Church was built in Macau in the year 1576. During the period 1839 to 1842, a treaty known as the Sino-Portuguese Treaty of Amity and Commerce was signed between the Qin dynasty and the Portuguese Government. The year 1928 witnessed the end of the imperial rule in China. The then newly formed Chinese Government signed a new Sino-Portuguese Friendship and Trade Treaty thereby abolishing the Sino-Portuguese Treaty of Amity and Commerce.

The year 1943 marked the invasion of Japan over China. Macau fell to the hands of the Japanese invaders. However, the Portuguese in Macau did not oppose the invasion and were therefore treated with respect. The Japanese surrendered in the year 1945. In 1974, a newly formed Portugal Government broke all ties with Macau only to redefine the place as a Chinese land run by Portuguese Government.

The Chinese Government then acquired total control of the place Macau on 20th December 1999.

History of Kunming:

Archeologist’s civilization existed in 279 B.C. along the Lake Dianchi and in 109 BC; the place was ruled by Emperor Wu of Han dynasty. During this period trade existed between Kunming and places like India and Burma through the southern Silk Road.

During the period from 737 to 902, Kunming was known as Tuodong city and was administered by the Nanzhao Kingdom. From the period 937 to 1253 the city was administered by the ruler of Dali Kingdom. The year 1252-1253 marked the reign of Yuan dynasty over Tuodong city. Tuodong city was then named Kunming and was the capital of the Yunnan province. Later the rulers of Mongol conquered the entire Yunnan region. The Mongols were defeated in the 14th century by the Ming dynasty.

The year 1870 saw the entry of French traders in the region. Rail lines were laid in the Yunnan province and work was finished in the year 1911. In the year 1935, Kunming was under the communist rule of China. In 1908, the ports at Kunming were opened for trade and the region prospered. The rail link to Hanoi was destroyed during the World War II and the rail link was again built in the year 1996. Kunming served as the strategic point for the allied nations fighting against the Japanese forces.
