Dorval is an on-island suburb located on the island of Montreal in Canadian province Quebec was initially formed in 1667 and is considered as one of the oldest cities in North America and the oldest in West Island. Dorval is situated 21 km from Montreal and about 270 km from the provincial capital Quebec City. Dorval is home to Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport which covers 60% of the total land area of the city and also Dorval houses the headquarters of many renowned airlines.

Dorval was earlier known by different names such as Gentilly and ‘La Presentation-de-la-Vierge-Marie’. It was established as a city in the year 1892, after 11 years it got the status of town in 1903 and finally became city in 1956.
