Darwaz is located in Badakhshan Province in Afghanistan which is divided between Afghanistan and Tajikistan having a total population of 21000. The region is covered with high mountain ranges, rivers and dense terrains surrounded by natural landscapes. The place is a home to many wild and endangered species of animals like brown bears, sloth bear, black bear, snow leopard, fox, hyenas and wolves.
