Pangot is a village situated in Kosiyakutoli Taluk in Nainital District in the Indian State of Uttrakhand. It is located about 17 kms from district main town Nainital and about 282 km southeast of state capital Dehradun. Pangot lies between latitude 29°25′25″ in the north and longitude 79°25′37″ in the east.

Pangot is a famous bird watching point houses more than 580 species birds. Pangot is home to Himalayan species like Himalayan griffon, lammergeyer, blue-winged minla, rufous-bellied woodpecker, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, khalij pheasant and rufous-bellied niltava. Along with birds Pangot houses yellow-throated Himalayan martens, sambhar, Himalayan palm civets, barking deer, leopards and ghorals.

Naina Devi Temple:

Naina Devi Temple is a Hindu pilgrim place located on the northern side of Naina Lake. This temple is dedicated to goddess Maa Naini Devi. On the top of the temple, the pictures of two eyes of Maa Naini Devi are attached. Also the temple has the idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Kali along with goddess Maa Naini Devi. Also there is annual fair celebrated in the temple by great fervor.

Hedakhan Ashram:

Hedakhan Ashram is the ancient place with the picturesque beauty and known for cool environment sited on the banks of Gaula River and located few kilometers away from Kathgodam City. Hedakhan Ashram is in near proximity with several attractively built temples and caves.

ARIES Astronomical Observatory:

ARIES (Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences) Astronomical Observatory is located 10 km away from Nainital Town on Peak Manora. It was established for the purpose of astronomical research in the year 1955. Presently, there is research process on planets, solar and hypothetical streams of astrophysics in ARIES. Tourists can visit this research centre only with prior permission of the concerned department. The research centre is open for visitors from 7 am to 9 pm.

Corbett National Park:

Corbett National Park is one of the chief national parks of the country home to great numbers of Indian Tigers, chital, nilgai, elephants, and sambar. The project was completed in the year 1973 and the park is stretched over an area of 500 sq. km.

Hanuman Garhi:

Hanuman Garhi is a prominent worship place of Hindus located about 4 km from Nainital Town is devoted to Lord Hanuman. Neem Karoli Baba was the founder of the temple and the temple is positioned at an elevation of 6,401 feet. Also this temple is in near proximity with Shitala Devi temple and Lila Sah Bapu Ashram.
