Puerto Williams is the capital city of Antarctic Province in Magallanes region of Chile geographically placed between 54°56′ S latitude and 67°37′ W longitude as the southernmost city of the world. Puerto Williams was named in the honor of the founder of Fuerte Bulnes (the first settlement in the Strait of Magellan),              John Williams Wilson. It was founded on 21 November 1953 as Puerto Luisa.
