New Mexico is a state in the United States situated towards the southern part of the country and considered as one of the Mountain States. History of New Mexico:

New Mexico was colonized by the Clovis culture of Paleo-Indians and later by various Native Americans. Francisco de Ibarra in the year 1563 discovered the region who travelled from Mexico and named the region as New Mexico and the capital city was established in the year 1608 near Rocky Mountain and settled in the region, but Spanish abandoned the region for 12 years and Pueblo people established themselves in the city and later again Spanish rule was established in the region. Later Untied State claimed the region and it became the part of the United States.
