Leiderdorp is a town as well as municipality located in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands, around 40 km southwest of the national capital, Amsterdam. Leiderdorp is partially the suburb of Leiden but these two are separated by Zijl and Oude Rijn rivers. In the Eighty Years’ War, the Spanish used Leiderdorp as base for their army.

Leiderdorp is situated in the western Netherlands between 52°10′ N latitude and 4°32′ E longitude, covering an area of 12.28 sq. km of which 11.55 sq. km is land area. Leiderdorp is well known for its pleasant weather running throughout the year.

 

How to reach Leiderdorp?

Leiderdorp is served by the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol which operates flights from and to London, Paris, Dublin, Moscow, Madrid, Delhi, New York, Mumbai, Rome, Athens and Beijing. This airport is situated about 25 km away from the centre of Leiderdorp town.

Located in Oegstgeest, around 6 km away from Leiderdorp, Corpus is a 6 story human body shaped statue and inside this statue, visitors can experience the formation of the human body and function. It is allowed for visitors Tuesday – Sunday (9 AM – 7 PM) and the admission fee is €17, 50.
