Uzbekistan country is located on the Asian continent and shares its borders with countries such as Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Tashkent is the capital city of Turkmenistan. History of Uzbekistan

According to historians, a tribe by the name Oghuz from Mongolia with Turkic spoken language settled in Turkmenistan in the 8th century. In the 10th century, Turkmenistan was dominated by the Seljuk Empire and Islam religion was introduced in the entire region. In the 12th century, the Seljuk Empire was defeated by tribal people from neighboring regions and the locals of Turkmenistan. In 13th century, the region was invaded by the Mongols and hence the Turkmens migrated to the south of Turkmenistan. From 16th to 18th century, these Turkmens tribe terrorized neighboring regions. The late 19th century witnessed the Russian army conquering most parts of Turkmenistan.

The people of Uzbekistan are known as Uzbek. Languages spoken by the people of Uzbekistan are Uzbek and Russian. However, Uzbek is the official language of the country.
