Kasoa, earlier called Odupongkpehe, is a Ghanaian town situated at the outskirts of Accra, the capital city of Ghana. Kasoa is located around 30 km west of the heart of Accra, between 05°31′12″ N latitude and 00°28′48″ W longitude. Kasoa lies on the along the Accra-Cape Coast Road and experiences the dry season from November to March. Kasoa is noted as a market town, mainly for the selling of different agro-processed products of which cassava is the famous one, mainly used for the preparation of popular food items like ‘agbelima’ and ‘gari.

 

Connectivity to Kasoa:

Kasoa is served by the Kotoka International Airport, situated around 35 km away. This airport is the most important airport of Ghana, covering many global destinations like Lisbon, São Tomé, Istanbul, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Beirut, Madrid, Banjul, Dakar, Monrovia, Cairo, Abidjan, Dubai, London and Rome.

Constructed in the 17th century by the Danes, Osu Castle is the former Presidential House of Ghana. It is allowed for visitors with a prior permission only. It is worth a visit.

Jamestown comes under the historic part of Accra, is situated few hundred meters away from the Independence Square of Accra. A historic lighthouse is one of the highlights of Jamestown. It would be better if one take a guided tour to explore Jamestown.
