History of Aronda

The village of Aronda was in the beginning called as Aravande, which was a derivative from Aravind that refers to flower lotus. The past dates back to 19^th century when a high school was built in the entrance of the village. It is said that the school emerged in the early 19^th century by the King of Sawantwadi Sansthan, H H Khem Sawant who was the ruler then. It is home to the Mahatma Gandhi Valchan Mandir which was established on 2nd October 1948 and has number of very old and new books.

Shiroda Beach

Redi Ganpati Temple

Fort Terekhol
