Borovets is a mountain resort town belonging to the province of Sofia in Bulgaria lying on the northern slopes of Rila Mountain between 42°15′52″ N latitude and 23°36′25″ E longitude. Skiing is allowed between 9.00 am to 4.30 pm and 5 pm till 10 pm (night skiing).

The history of Borovets dates back to 1896 when it was initially founded as a hunting site for the kings of Bulgaria.
