Chankhar Lhakhang

 

This castle once belonged to one of the Indian King Sindhu Raja. This castle resembles that of a village house. A saint by the name Dorji Lingpa renovated this castle during the 14th century.

 

Lhodrak Kharchhu Monastery

 

The monastery was established in the year 1984, by Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche who is said to be the reincarnation of a 9th century Tibetan Lama. This is one of the most important monasteries in the entire country of Bhutan.

Airway:

Brunei International Airport operates flights to places such as Kota Kinabalu, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, London, Shanghai, Melbourne, Manila, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Surabaya, Jakarta. The airport is 11 km away from Bandar Seri Begawan. Taxis and public buses are available at the airport to offer transportation to visitors till Bandar Seri Begawan city. The journey takes hardly twenty minutes from the airport to the city. A ride from a taxi to the city will cost B$25 while a bus ticket cost B$2.

 

Roadway:

Bandar Seri Begawan has roads linking to Brunei. Sarawak in Malaysia is easily connected to Bandar by a main road which passes through Tutong, Seria and Kuala Belait. There is a main road linking Limbang in Sarawak to Muara and Kuala Lurah in Bandar. But this main road passes through two check posts, one at Puni the other at Kuala Lurah before reaching Bangar.

There are regular bus service from Kuala Beliat in Brunei to places such as Seri, Miri, Kuala Lurah, and Muara and vice versa.

 

Sea route:

There are boats available from Temburong district across Sungai Kianggeh at Jalan Residency that leaves regularly to Bangar and Bandar. Boats are also available from places such as Labuan, Lawas, Sundar and other towns in Sarawak leaving from Serasa Ferry Terminal to places such as Kota Kinabalu, Sabah every day and vice versa.

 

Getting around the city:
