Humacao is a city situated in Puerto Rico (an unincorporated territory of the USA), around 55 km southeast of the island capital, San Juan. History of Humacao:

Humacao takes its name from Jumacao, a native Indian Chief and his statue erected on the east side of the town. It was formed in the month of April, 1722 and became a separate town in 1793. Fajardo-Humacao diocese (Roman Catholic diocese) was constructed on March, 2008.

History of Guanica:

The history of Guanica dates back to 1508 when it was initially founded by a Spanish explorer and conquistador, Juan Ponce de Leon and after 3 years, in 1511, Guanica was destroyed due to indigenous uprising. Guanica became a separate municipality on 13 March, 1914 by carving out from Yauco municipality.
