Andidzhan also known as Andijan is located in Andijan province in the eastern part of Uzbekistan. Andijan province shares its borders with Kyrgyzstan country. History of Andizhan

The year 1898 witnessed the Andijan Uprising wherein the Russians residing in the city were attacked by the followers of Madali Ishan who was the then Sufi leader. When the Soviet Union was formed, the boundaries of Andizhan were modified. Andizhan became an asylum for the evacuated Russians during the Second World War.
