History of Kilkenny:

The foundation of the town was laid in 6th century and St. Canice Cathedral was constructed in the honor of St. Canice and during the invasion of Norman in Ireland Lord of Lenister constructed the fort in the city and William Marshall constructed the wall around the city. After the deadly attack by Black Death in 1348, most of the people died due to the disease and most of the residents were shifted to other countries. Development in the country was started in the year 1965 and industries and small business flourished in the city.
