The famous hotel entrepreneur Sol Kerzner was the developer of Sun City, who developed it as part of his Sun International property group. Officially, Sun City resort was inaugurated on 7 December 1979.

How to reach Sun City?

Sun City is served by Pilanesberg International Airport with everyday flights to/from Johannesburg. The airport is situated around 11 km away from Sun City. Taxis are generally available at the airport and if one booked rental vehicle before reaching the airport that would be convenient for comfortable airport travel.
