<p>Chipata is a city and the administrative centre of Eastern Province in the south African country, Zambia. It is located near Zambia’s border with Malawi, around 570 km northeast of the national capital, Lusaka. Chipata is known as a city with a substantial number of Indian population. Chipata is a commercial city with all basic and modernized facilities like a market, a hospital, a golf course, a shopping centre and an airport.</p>
<p>Among tourists, Chipata is famous as a gateway to South Luangwa National Park, which is around 150 km west of Chipata. Apart from this, there are many small reserves located near Chipata with less distance than South Luangwa National Park. The name of Chipata may be derived from the Ngoni term ‘Chimpata’, which means ‘large space’. The elevation of Chipata measures 1,140 meters, while its coordinates are 13°39′ S 32°38′ E.</p>
