As the Candolim Beach is located in Northern part of Goa, it is obvious to get a move on. However, this is not the jostle of an overloaded city, but is of colourful life of the high-spirited Goans. The tourists and locals tremendously accept the Candolim seashore. The nature’s beauty of the place along with its modern feel makes it a famous choice for the vacationers and honeymooners. The beach stretches from Fort Aguada to Baga for 30 kilometers, making it one of the longest beaches in the state. A bulk carrier ship, The River Princess, was stuck here since 2000. It was finally cleared in 2015, and was a popular tourist attraction. FabIndia is a good place to shop for clothing and souvenirs. You will find clothing, jewelry, home furnishings and beautiful high end gifts. The area is quite small – you can easily get around on foot.

Attractions:

The natural beauty of this place is still clean by the fact that the beach does not contain the gaudy resorts and hotels nearby. Most of them are to be found up the beach, close to the towns. With this, people can enjoy the nature and need not have to worry about the daily essentials. The beach itself is calm and the tourists keep the same, all prefer to enjoy the tranquility of the calm waters in great consideration. The beach later joins with the Calangute, which is a well-known beach. The foremost attraction is Fort Agunda, which was built in the 16th century, at the time of the Portuguese settlements being established. In fact the Calangute and the Candolim beaches flank it on both sides, and tourists move to this famous fort visiting any of the beaches. And view of the sea from top of this famous fort is merely breadth taking. Or head straight for the Quincy, popular for its rendition for local Goan music, but which will transport you to the Caribbean’s.

Accommodation:

There a very few guesthouses and cottages found here and therefore accommodation here is a difficult task. You can try out for the resorts situated a little far from the beach. Some of them are the Whispering Palms Beach Resort and The Highland Beach Resort. Enjoy your day watching the blue waters from the balcony of these hotels. Or get into the saloons that would refresh your mind and body after the days of enjoyment. After the candle light dinner a romantic walk under the sky of twinkling stars with your beloved ones will be an unforgettable night.

Bogmalo Beach is a fresh package, as it dose not come under the list of popular beaches. It is surrounded by palm trees and is basically not so crowded. It is mainly known for fishing and is near to the northern headlines of the Colva Bay. This beach is vast and has ceaseless area of the golden sand. You can view the tiny boats moving out for their everyday catches before they vanish away from the scene ahead of the inward surfs. You can take a cab or a bus which 8 kms away from the Vasco-da-Gama. As this beach is quite admired by the locals, it will be busy during the weekends, but here there is nothing additional to the sound of waves and the scream of the sea gulls to break off one’s stay.

Accommodation:

In addition to the above there are few guest houses that are owned by families of Goa, and staying here offers you with the homely ease and helps you to experience the Goan society and tradition that are colourful yet is a genuine lifestyle.

There are no places that you can visit with great interest in Bogmalo. Its supreme wealth is nature’s beauty and this is the only cause that brings you to this beautiful beach. On the other hand, the beach has got a diving school that helps you in learning the diving tricks on some days of the week. Swimming too is very secure here. As it is famous for fishing, soon it will start with an industry that would find a great progress. You are allowed to try fishing all by yourself! Or even shop in the close by city of Mapusa, it has shopping malls or enter the flea markets of the Anjuna beach. It is very easy to get the transportation if one wants to visit the adjacent village as well as the beaches.

Food:

In order to get the best taste of the Goan dishes and seafood then move into the native shacks and the terrace cafes. Women usually run them, while the men are busy at the sea fishing. They provide you with the spiciest dishes at considerable rates. Or move towards the market where there are a few restaurants offering you with the delicious seafood.

It is one of the most beautiful beaches of Goa. It is bounded by hills on both sides that make it calm and pleasant. The unique part of this Beach is regarding the shape that it is semi-circular, and the best thing is the view of the complete beach standing at one particular place. And it takes about 40 minutes in a bus right from Margao, the main town of Southern Goa. This beach is not too messy, with just fishermen being the visitors over here. And because of this reason the beauty is still observed, and you get to understand the nature in its best way. Sorry to say but the visitors are cheated with over priced sellers. However there are people selling mehendi mixing with cheaper chemicals.

Attractions:

There is a stream called the Pandava’s Drum that keeps its trail open to the cup shaped valley. Swimming in the Palolem beach should be taken care of, as there are boulders and rocks scattered in the sea has to would hurt you. However, the water is pretty much less and the currents are comparatively weaker than rest of the beaches, so it must not be too much to bother about. The “Money Stone” is a confined pilgrimage site. There is a saying that even if you leave or take the money which does not belong to you; the locals of this place are so simple and honest that they do not even think of going against the rules. You can also visit to the small cave built by the Figueiredo family in beach house. But unfortunately Vandals spoiled it, and therefore now it’s a part of the Neptune Point hotel. This beach is situated very close to the market of Chaudi, where you can find all your requirements. Please do not miss the butterfly beach at the boat trip and here you are allowed to join the fishermen to catch the fishes with the help of your hand and also grasp a sight of the mischievous dolphins moving around. The town marketplace is a little far away, and you get to buy the junk jewelry, handicrafts and souvenirs made by the locals. You can even go in for spices that Goa is famous for.

Nearby Attractions in Palolem Beach

Some of best attractions nearby include Saint Tereza Of Jesus, Pantem beach, Shree Dutta Guru Mandir, Pantem – Colomb beach, Pandava’s Drum, Bumipurush Temple are some of the nearby attractions. All of these are at short destinations and are good places for photography, short walks and memories to take along. However, the main attraction remains the Palolem beach only.

Accommodation:

Palolem is the best destination for the tourists looking forward to a calm beach vacation. It is very difficult to find the stay over as the other beaches. You can find the guesthouses and the usual inns, but they are always full. For the food, check out for the shacks that serves you hot, and spicy Goan special food and prawns with different kinds of pickles. Also you can choose the genuine seafood that is cooked mainly the prawns, fish and the lobsters freshly brought in from the sea. Here people opt for the beach huts that are usually full throughout the year. Some parts of the beach are empty and there you can find only cliffs and boulders scattered all over, and in particular you can’t find any inhabitants. However the beauty of this place is despoiled. Spending a day just by lying under the shades of the palm trees is good enough, along with it you can enjoy the sound of waves crashing which wakes you up. The simple way to reach the beach is through the Canacona Railway Station, which is adjacent to the beach. To roam around in the beach, you can opt for the bikes and auto rickshaws. Even cycles are the best options that you can rent from the natives. You will not find your daily life facilities on this beach, but the nature’s beauty of this place will compensate for your inconveniences. Just a visit to the tranquil beach will let you forget about the buzz of the urban life.

Accommodation in Palolem ranges from luxury, deluxe to standard hotels. It has everything from basic beach shacks to luxury hotels and resorts. Right from luxury facilities to delicious cuisines, there is everything what you need it during your stay.

Arambol Beach is found a few kilometers away from the city of Mapusa in northern Goa. It is 35 kilometers from Panaji, Goa’s state capital, via the NH 66. The international airport is 59.2 kilometers away. It is just north of the Mandrem beach. This beach is one among the attractive beaches in Goa than the Vagator, Anjuna and Palolem. The beach calls in many international tourists mainly in the months of December January and February. This beach almost stays private all the times and you will hardly come across anything more than cliffs and rocks all the way through the beach. The main attraction of this place is untouched and you can spend hours together in watching the waves thriving on the boulders.

The beach is relatively less crowded which allows you to enjoy a peaceful holiday. There are no water sports organizing guys who bog you down to take the best deal. There is a sunset drum circle mostly dominated by foreigners who play Jimba. The music is to die for and you can’t stop tapping your feet to the tunes if you are high.

The stay at Arambol is still cheap as compared to other beaches in Goa. You can get a hut on the beach for Rs 600 to Rs 1000 and believe me sea water is just a stone’s throw away from the huts.

Attractions:

The Sea is wonderfully in perfect level and the seabed makes it an ideal place for swimming. The foremost pull of the beach is definitely going to be the hot water spring that is close to a fresh water lake. And this is mainly due to the fact of topography and on high salt content; this is the main attraction to a lot of tourists including the locals. Particularly on Sundays, this place turns into a picnic spot. And there is a belief that the spring water has medicinal belongings that are mainly good for the skin. The major segment of the beach, is well known as the Harma, and is usually quite crowded.

The inferior part of the beach is still more private and is only scattered by cliffs on both sides. It is considered as a place of calm and silence and you end up with the feel that you are away from the rest of the world. This is the place where the hawkers and vendors come weekly to sell their things. The local shops selling clothes, every day fundamentals, scrap jewels etc are all lined away from the beach. If you want to go out for a swim and is unwilling to go into the sea, you make a move towards the fresh water pools close by, which is the mostly liked for swimming and the nearby cliffs are used for paragliding. There is a hill close by and the sight of the sea from the top makes a fantastic view of the whole stretch from Morjim to Arambol.

Hotels and stay:

You can’t find much when it comes to accommodation apart from one or two guesthouses or cottages. Firmly, this beach does not have lots of hotels or cottages and it is better that you stay near to Calangute or Anjuna beach. In addition to this there are resorts coming up in the surrounding area like the Famafa Beach Resort and also Hotel Santa Maria. The rooms over here are inexpensive but you may not get all the things that you may demand for. Nevertheless, the total beauty of this place without difficulty compensates rest of the problems. And in fact, it is the lack of urbanization and lavishness that gives this place still an old world charm.

Transport:

The simplest way of reaching this beach is by a bus from Mapusa, Arambol or from Chopdem. And it takes about 40 minutes to reach the beach. You can take boats to Anjuna. And if you really want to visit different places in order to check out the local traditions, then your best option would be the bike that is gives for rent by the native at very low-price.

Best Time to Visit :

The winter season, between November and February, is the best time to visit Arambol. It is pleasant this time of the year. There is paragliding this time of the year. The monsoon is too risky for paragliding because of the high winds and the chance of sudden rains. The summer can be too harsh. Besides, everything shuts down almost completely at other times of the year. Most beach shacks at Arambol are open only during the peak winter months, which is almost like the only season here.

Agonda beach is known for its privacy it is 37 kms away from the town of Margao. It is located away from the place of many beaches and is not much popular when compared to the other beaches like the Calangute or the Baga, and mainly for this reason the beauty of Agonda is yet unheard. Agonda Beach is of 3 kms in length and a lonesome beautiful cove of white sand that is scattered with palms and casuarinas. It has a small hill to the south that enriches nature’s beauty. And you will not find any modern extra comfort hotels and resorts all the way through 3 kms long stretch of the beach. As a substitute of that you will find the white sand under your feet, blue sky above your head and the emerald waters in front of your eyes, and irregularly the fishing boats sailing out to get their daily catch.

The chief attraction for the tourists is the fort of Cabo de Rama. According to the myths, there is a saying that Lord Rama had spent some time here with his wife Sita during the period of his 12-year exile. Evening walk at the beach gets you to watch the complete process of sunset you can experience the best view of life. Dudhsagar waterfall is another place that you move into and is an interesting place as green forests surround it. You can also try out with trucking, campfire and much more. As the colour of the water here is pure white just like milk hence the name came Dudhsagar where Dudh refers to milk in Hindi. On the other hand, the only disadvantage of this place is that it has nothing to please the needs of the urban community. You cannot find the restaurants or malls, or small hotels or even the spas. So you are asked to carry all the necessary things required. Considering the transportation it is not very easily accessible and the feasible way to reach the beach or to roam around is mainly through the motorcycle, which is the smallest and the best thing that is available as people here rent them to the outsiders.

The same thing goes for the rooms. As there are no resorts or hotels in the surrounding area, the only alternative that is remaining is to live in some hotel that is close to the town and later visit the beach. But, at times we hear, that people really get along with the loneliness and calmness of the place that tempt them to live in tents or camps on the beach itself. And as soon as you reach at this place the first thing you do is to swim in the warm, humid waters and it is restricted only to a certain distance in the Agonda beach as it is considered to be not very safe because of the undersea boulders and also the population is very low, where you cant find any help at the time of crisis. You can cook your own food or try the simple, yet spicy new recipes cooked by the locals of that place. The main reason to recommend this beach is for its calm, peace, loveliness and mainly for people who want to spend a few days all alone then Agonda Beach is the perfect target for them.
