Thane is a well known city situated in Thane District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is located about 22 kms from Mumbai City and about 150 km from Pune City. Thane City is located between 19.172431° N latitude and 72.957019° E longitude and is placed at an elevation of 7 meters.

Thane District is surrounded by Raigad District in the south, Dadra and Nagar Haveli district on the north, Ahmednagar district to the east, Nashik district towards northeast, Pune district to the southeast and Mumbai Suburban district on the southwest.

History of Guntur

According to historians, the Bhattiprolu Kingdom ruled Guntur being the first rulers in the whole of south, of the nation.
