Kalabo is situated around 70 km from Zambia’s border with Angola and 870 km west of Lusaka, the capital and largest city of Zambia. It is located near Zambia’s border with Malawi, around 570 km northeast of the national capital, Lusaka. Chipata is known as a city with a substantial number of Indian population. Chipata is a commercial city with all basic and modernized facilities like a market, a hospital, a golf course, a shopping centre and an airport.

Among tourists, Chipata is famous as a gateway to South Luangwa National Park, which is around 150 km west of Chipata.
