History of Zaysan:

According to historians, a fortress was built by the Russians which happened to extend their boundaries towards the southeast of their country, Russia into neighboring nomadic region of Northeast Kazakhstan in the year 1752. The fort attained its name after the Great Russian Empire who conquered the region. In the year 1807 the place was declared a city. A Russian Military base was established in the town, Zaysan during the year 1868. In the year 1917, before the breakout of the Russian Revolution the place was one the most well known trading centers for carpets and fabrics made of Silk.

History of Taldy Kurgan:

Taldy Kurgan is city in Almaty Province and civilization began 1000 to 900 B.C in and around the region Almaty. The region was occupied by cattle rearers and farmers. From the 8th to 14th century trade flourished and economy boomed in and around Almaty. Trade and commercial activities had an adverse effect in the region of Almaty between the 15th and 18th century and during this period the Kazakh people drove the Dzungar out of the region. This was the turning point before the invasion of Russia in 1854. After the construction of the fort Verniy in the year 1854, close to the mountain, Zailiysky Alatau witnessed the influx of people especially peasants from Russia settling in and around the region. The Fort Verniy was declared a town in the year 1867.

The Soviets took control of Verniy merging the entire region with Turkestan in the year 1918. Alma-Ata was for the first time in history made the capital of Kazak ASSR which was formerly Kyzylorda. History of Semey:

Civilization began in Semey region in the year 1718. A fortress was constructed close to the Irtysh River by the Russians, close to a ransacked Buddhist monastery. The fort acquired the name Semipalatinsk because of the then present seven architectural structures of the monastery.  In the year 1777, the fort was destroyed by a flood caused by the melting of the snow up the river Irtysh, causing the river to create a flood. A new fort was constructed in the year 1778 on higher grounds at a distance 18 km from the old location towards the origin of the Irtysh River. Trade took place via the river route between the thriving Russian Imperials and the Central Asian nomadic tribes. In the year 1853, the Turkestan-Siberia Rail link was established thus contributing to the booming economy of the region.  From the period 1917 to 1920, at the time of the Russian Civil War, Semey then known as Semipalatinsk formed the capital for the state called Alash Autonomy. The testing of the Soviet Atomic bomb program took place in the year 1949, at a place towards the west of Semey. Various nuclear tests were conducted from the period 1949 to 1989.

History of Kyzylorda:

As per the historians, a fortress was built in Kyzylorda in the year 1820. After the construction of the fortress in the region, people from nearby places began to settle down in Kyzylorda region. The commander of the fortress was Yaqub Beg. In 1853, the Russian army invaded Kyzylorda region. After conquering the fortress the Russians changed the name of the fortress to Perovsky. Trade flourished in this entire region, and the city was known by the name Perovsky until the end of 1922 where the name was changed to Ak-Mechet. The city received the name Kyzyl-Orda at the beginning of 1925 when it was declared for a short period of time as the capital of Kazakhstan.
